Epson Stylus COLOR 300 Windows XP Driver

I finally was able to hack the (already unnofficial) NT drivers for the stylus color 300 to work (in colour!) under XP. I then spent a few
hours trying to simplify the procedure in hopes that other users of this printer might get it to work too.
Before you use the enclosed .REG and .EXE files, you MUST read the (also) enclosed _README-NOW!.RTF text file - this includes
instructions of use, as well as the following disclaimer:
"While these steps worked fine with me, they might not work at all on your machine. In fact, since this procedure involves changes to the Windows Registry it is a SENSITIVE PROCEDURE THAT CAN, IN AN EXTREME CASE, RENDER YOUR WINDOWS XP INSTALLATION USELESS! While I find this
immensely hard to occur, it can hypothetically happen, so you use this at your own risk. I will not be liable for any damages directly or
indirectly connected to using this procedure and it comes with NO WARRANTY whatsoever."
(At the time of writing, I have received feedback from over 100 people and not a single one has ruined their Windows installation and over 95% successfully installed the driver)

Low Ink Warnings On Dell AIO 922, 924 & 926
Once an OEM cartridge is inserted into your printer, the printer begins to track the ink
used for that particular cartridge. When a cartridge has used about 80% of its ink, the
printer may begin to send the user "your ink level is low" warning messages. After the
cartridge is refilled, the printer may continue to send out these warning messages. The
low ink warning is very common in Dell and Lexmark printers. There is no chip to reset.
It is in the electronics of the cartridge.
These warning messages may simply be ignored, and the printer should continue
to operate normally. However, if you wish to disable the “Low Ink” warning
messages, please follow instruction below.
To disable the “Low Ink” warning messages from your PC do the following:
1. From the WINDOWS™ click START Menu → Programs → Dell Printers → Dell
Photo AIO Printer 922 → Dell All In One Center
2. Click on “Maintain / Troubleshoot” → Click on “Ink Level” → Click on “Advanced”
tab → Click on “More Option” command button
3. Click on the circle option button “Never display the printing status”
4. Click on the circle option button “Never display low ink messages”
(Apply for Photo AIO 926 printer only)
5. Click OK to apply the setting change and close all application.
NOTE: This operation will disable all Printing Status and Low Ink message
display from your PC. This operation can be reversed by repeating these steps
and checking the “Display Printing Status minimized in the taskbar ” “Display all

HOW RESET DRUM PAGE COUNTER ON A DELL 1710 1710N LASER PRINTER

How to Reset the Drum Page Counter on a Dell 1710/1710n Laser Printer ?, After replacing the imaging drum in a Dell printer, the "change drum light images" can remain flashing as if the printer does not recognize a new drum is installed. Another imaging drum can be inserted to see if the first was bad, but it is likely that the drum page counter needs to be restored. These instructions are not provided in the user manual and can be frustrating to carry out exactly like the printer. It may take several attempts to persevere for the time and you are going to print again soon.

1 Toggle switch on the back of the printer. Turn off the printer.
2 Front door opened Hold down the Next button to open the door. Then turn on the printer.
3 Keep the Go button pressed until only the "LED" error is release. Close the door.

Cara Memperbaiki dan Mengatasi masalah Printer Canon MP 287 & Kode Error Printer Canon MP 287 ;
E02 : Printer Kehabisan kertas (Printer is Out of Paper ) atau kertas tidak masuk dengan baik. Masukkan kertas dengan benar.
E03 : Kertas Macet (Paper Jammed) atau Output Kertas Tertutup. Membuka Output Kertas, Reload Kertas dengan benar.E04 atau E05 : Cartridge anda tidak terdeteksi / tidak terkenali oleh printer (The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized). Cartridge harus terpasang dengan baik atau bukan Compatible. Cobalah Lepaskan Cartridge dulu, Kemudian pasang kembali dengan mendorong lalu Kunci cartridge sampai mengklik ke tempatnya.
E07 : Cartridge tidak dipasang dalam posisi yang benar (The FINE Cartridge is not installed in the correct position). Periksa apakah Cartridge Hitam / Warna sudah dalam posisi yang benar.
E08 : Ink Absorber hamper penuh (Ink absorber is almost full). Tekan Tombol Hitam atau Warna pada Printer anda untuk Melanjutkan Pencetakan ( Continue Printing )
E13 : Sisa Tinta tidak bisa terdeteksi ( The Remaining ink level cannot be detected ). Ganti Tinta dengan Cartridge baru dan asli. Jika anda ingin melanjutkan tanpa mengganti Cartridge baru, Tekan Tombol STOP/RESET pada Printer anda Selama 5 detik.
E14 : Cartridge tidak dikenali (The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized). Ganti Cartridge lama dengan Cartridge baru.
E15 : Cartridge tidak dikenali (The FINE Cartridge cannot be recognized). Cartridge tidak terpasang dengan benar. Coba Lepaskan cartridge Kemudian pasang kembali ketempatnya hingga anda mengklik pengunci Cartridge tersebut.
E16 : The ink has Run Out. Jika Printer sedang mencetak data, tekan tombol STOP/RESET selama 5 detik kemudian lanjutkan Pencetakan anda. Ganti Cartridge Tinta kosong.
E30 : Dokumen terlalu kecil ketika memilih “Fit Copying is Selected”, periksa posisi dokumen pada kaca Scanner.
E31 : Printer tidak tersambung dengan Komputer (The printer is not connected with the computer). Sambungkan kabel USB dari Printer ke Port USB di Komputer
E50 : Scanning the Print Head alignment sheet has failed, Tekan tombol STOP/RESET. Pastikan kertas yang dimuat (A4 atau ukuran lainnya) sesuai dengan Print head alignment, dan juga kertas dalam posisi yang benar dan kaca plat tidak kotor. Pastikan juga Print Head Nozzles tidak tersumbat
Ketika Lampu Printer anda blinking berwarna Hijau dan lampu alarm blinking berwarna oranye bergantian,
P02 : Batalkan pencetakan dan matikan printer anda. Bersihkan / tarik kertas yang menyangkut pada printer anda. Mungkin Cartridge anda Rusak / Patah. Hidupkan Printer anda kembali.
P10 : Matikan Printer anda kemudian hidupkan kembali.
Kasus Kesalahan lainnya : matikan printer anda dan cabut kabel power listrik kemudian pasang kembali ke printer anda.

Cause
* The pin is broken on the Primary Fan 2 Duct. The Laser Shutter is activated by the pin on the Primary Fan Duct Assembly. The linkage is pinched not allowing the laser shutter to be fully actuated (may also indicate E227-0004). Faulty Laser Scanner Assembly.
* Defective DC Controller PCB Assembly.
Action
1. Check the shutter operation and the pin on the Primary Fan Duct Assembly. If the
pin is broken replace the Primary Fan 2 Duct (iR6570 : FC6-3540-000 / iR5075
FL2-5834-000) or the Primary Fan Duct Assembly (iR6570 : FM2-3074-000 / iR5075
FM2-9694-000). If the Laser Scanner Assembly (iR6570 : FM2-3670-000 / iR5075
FM2-9832-000) has been replaced and error codes E100-0001/ E227-0004 are
intermittently indicated, proceed to the next step.
2. Remove the Primary Fan Duct Assembly (this assembly has a pin on it
that activates the laser shutter).
3. Remove and reinstall the Laser Scanner Assembly.
4. Install the Primary Fan Duct Assembly. This should free the linkage
allowing the laser shutter to be fully actuated.
5. Finally a DC Con clear resolved both of the intermittent issues (E100-0001/
E227-0004)

When the above error code/image problems are experienced, perform the following:
1. Check the potential sensor wiring harness for any damage. This is caused by the harness being trapped between the hopper assembly and the cable tie head.
2. If the cable is damaged repair or replace as necessary.
3. Reposition the head of the cable ties on the cable guide in a downward position.
4. Input "1" under Service Mode > COPIER > FUNCTION > DPC > DPC, press the OK key and switch the Main power off and on so as to forcibly execute the Potential Control.

2. Remove the Primary Fan Duct Assembly (this assembly has a pin on it
that activates the laser shutter).
3. Remove and reinstall the Laser Scanner Assembly.
4. Install the Primary Fan Duct Assembly. This should free the linkage
allowing the laser shutter to be fully actuated.
5. Finally a DC Con clear resolved both of the intermittent issues (E100-0001/
E227-0004)

When the above error code/image problems are experienced, perform the following:
1. Check the potential sensor wiring harness for any damage. This is caused by the harness being trapped between the hopper assembly and the cable tie head.
2. If the cable is damaged repair or replace as necessary.
3. Reposition the head of the cable ties on the cable guide in a downward position.
4. Input "1" under Service Mode > COPIER > FUNCTION > DPC > DPC, press the OK key and switch the Main power off and on so as to forcibly execute the Potential Control.

Reset manual "Ink Absorber Full" for pixma MP145 ( error message E27) actually , its work as same as Canon MP 150 or MP 160, This is the step :
Canon MP145
with the printer powered off but connected to a power source , you must:
A) Press stop/reset button, and then press [ON/OFF] button to restart
B) Press [ON/OFF] again and then press twice the stop/reset button.
C) Press [ON/OFF] & Stop/reset button together, this time to enter
the repair status and power lights will be green,
D) Press stop/reset button 4x and warning lights will be go out
in [ON/OFF]button.
E) Turn off the printer.( it must be turn off) and then turn it on again.
Use with your own risk , ill try this way and my Pixma MP145 not
blink again.

Removal and replacement Main gear assembly tray 2 pickup solenoid hp laserjet p 2015

1. Remove all covers.
2. Remove the fan from the printer chassis.
3. Disconnect one cable (1) at the ECU
4. Release the tab on the gear (1) and slide the gear off the shaft.
5. Remove the cables from the cable guide (2).
6. Remove four screws (3).
Pull the main gear assembly straight away from the printer
8. To remove the tray 2 pickup solenoid, disconnect one cable (1).
9. Remove one screw (1), and then lift the solenoid off the printer.

3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.

7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

Formatter
1. Remove the left-side cover.
2.Disconnect one cable (1) at the top of the formatter.
3. Disconnect one flat, flexible cable (2) at the top of the formatter.
CAUTION: Do not fold flat, flexible cables. Also, do not straighten pre-folds in flat, flexible cables.
4. Disconnect one flat, flexible cable (3) at the bottom of the formatter. Disconnect one cable (4) at the bottom of the formatter. Remove four screws (5).

Xerox NYSE XRX and Information Overload Syndrome

Xerox has a video on Youtube.com, "Information Overload Syndrome", that is attracting some marketing-industry attention. The Wall Street Journals blog, Digits, has a piece by Bill Bulkeley, "Can a Made-Up Disease Help Xerox Sell Services?", that explores Xeroxs efforts at "going viral" with this excellent (and yes, over-the-top) mock-news-style exploration of "IOS". At under 8,000 views on YouTube after several weeks, its not exactly setting the world on fire, but certainly should be viewed as an overall success and innovative use of new media resources, using a "very modest amount" of money, as Bulkeley quotes Young and Rubicams Christa Carone. And like many of its ilk, the video only indirectly gets at a true "call to action", which we infer is engaging Xerox and their managed print services capabilities.
And by the way, I was informed of the WSJ piece (and the video) by a "tweet" from @XeroxCorp!

Looking back looking forward

As the year winds down, its natural to look back over a very momentous 12 months in the printing and imaging industry. So over the next two weeks, Ill be highlighting some of my thoughts on what developed in 2007, and then offer some views, my own and those of others, on whats coming in 2008 and beyond.
In this light, a great piece is available at Eweek.com by M. David Stone looks at "The 20 Most Interesting Printers of 2007". Regular readers may remember I wrote a post pointing to this piece back in November. Now, a companion piece of the more forward-looking variety is available, entitled "10 Up and Coming Technologies That Will Change Printing". Here, David looks at many of the industrys breakthroughs enabling the mainstream of printers and printing (like Memjet, HPs Edgeline, Xeroxs solid ink, etc on the device side and ink and paper systems on the supplies side) and also some break-out areas outside the conventional mold like Electronics and 3D Printing.

Toner Counter Reset for Brother HL3070 HL 4570cdw Brother HL 4150CDN

This "secret" reset method has saved me $200.
Hacking the toner counter of Brother HL3070 / HL-4570cdw/ Brother HL-4150CDN by simply open cartridge door and then press both "cancel" and "secure" buttons simultaneously. This will take you to a hidden menu where you will find 3 counters for each of the 4 toners. That will be 12 counters in all. Reset each one and you are back in business.
Concerning this unit has stopped printing four times, telling you that youve burned through three magenta toner cartridges. Each time I used this "secret" reset method and fixed it. Im still on the original magenta cartridge.
Instruction.
1. Open Cover where you access toner cartridges
2. Press CANCEL & SECURE PRINT buttons at one time and youll see the toner menus on screen
3. Press + or - to navigate through to the toners you need to reset. Hit "Y" to reset the toner. Scroll through and repeat for each toner color as necessary.
4. Hit OK button when prompted. Reset menu for the durable parts counters:
1. Open cover where you access toners
2. Press GO and + button at once, youll see menu come up displaying reset counters for drum, fuser, etc.

This year, the commercially-printed, often stylish and artful program guide has been replaced with "basic black" -- functional monochrome output (stapled but NOT duplexed) either laser printed or copied (though we know that distinction is disappearing, and I will be following up on the output device). This is the kind of evolution that printer companies like HP (NYSE HPQ) are targeting for growing or at least maintaining pages printed, with traditional typeset jobs moving in-house to office printers and MFPs. And as Terdiman points out, its part of a green movement as well, because those old bound conference guides, as elegant as they were, most likely hit the dumpster in the days or weeks following the conference.
And the other side of that evolution (or more accurately the next stage of the continuum)? The attendee list, which was in recent years an office-printed and -stapled multi-page inclusion in the conference attendee bag, has now migrated to a Web-only existence, as the Demo Website continues to grow and broaden in its capabilities.
