How to Reset the Drum Page Counter on a Dell 1710/1710n Laser Printer ?, After replacing the imaging drum in a Dell printer, the "change drum light images" can remain flashing as if the printer does not recognize a new drum is installed. 1 Toggle switch on the back of the printer. Turn off the printer.
2 Front door opened Hold down the Next button to open the door. Then turn on the printer.
3 Keep the Go button pressed until only the "LED" error is release. Close the door.
4 The Continue button, Ready / Data, Toner Low, and loads of paper all the LEDs are lit.
5 Press the "Cancel" button a few times to cycle through the LEDs until only the "toner low LED lights.
6 Press and hold the Next button until the LEDs cycle through and release the LED stops when toner low.
7 Turn the printer off and back.
