Low Ink Warnings On Dell AIO 922 924 926

Low Ink Warnings On Dell AIO 922, 924 & 926

Once an OEM cartridge is inserted into your printer, the printer begins to track the ink
used for that particular cartridge. When a cartridge has used about 80% of its ink, the
printer may begin to send the user "your ink level is low" warning messages. After the
cartridge is refilled, the printer may continue to send out these warning messages. The
low ink warning is very common in Dell and Lexmark printers. There is no chip to reset.
It is in the electronics of the cartridge.
These warning messages may simply be ignored, and the printer should continue
to operate normally. However, if you wish to disable the “Low Ink” warning
messages, please follow instruction below.
To disable the “Low Ink” warning messages from your PC do the following:
1. From the WINDOWS™ click START Menu → Programs → Dell Printers → Dell
Photo AIO Printer 922 → Dell All In One Center
2. Click on “Maintain / Troubleshoot” → Click on “Ink Level” → Click on “Advanced”
tab → Click on “More Option” command button
3. Click on the circle option button “Never display the printing status”
4. Click on the circle option button “Never display low ink messages”
(Apply for Photo AIO 926 printer only)
5. Click OK to apply the setting change and close all application.
NOTE: This operation will disable all Printing Status and Low Ink message
display from your PC. This operation can be reversed by repeating these steps
and checking the “Display Printing Status minimized in the taskbar ” “Display all
low ink messages” option button

HOW RESET DRUM PAGE COUNTER ON A DELL 1710 1710N LASER PRINTER

0

How to Reset the Drum Page Counter on a Dell 1710/1710n Laser Printer ?, After replacing the imaging drum in a Dell printer, the "change drum light images" can remain flashing as if the printer does not recognize a new drum is installed. Another imaging drum can be inserted to see if the first was bad, but it is likely that the drum page counter needs to be restored. These instructions are not provided in the user manual and can be frustrating to carry out exactly like the printer. It may take several attempts to persevere for the time and you are going to print again soon.

Instructions

Tools:
Dell printer 1710/1710n
Restoration of the page against the drum

1 Toggle switch on the back of the printer. Turn off the printer.
2 Front door opened Hold down the Next button to open the door. Then turn on the printer.
3 Keep the Go button pressed until only the "LED" error is release. Close the door.
4 The Continue button, Ready / Data, Toner Low, and loads of paper all the LEDs are lit.
5 Press the "Cancel" button a few times to cycle through the LEDs until only the "toner low LED lights.
6 Press and hold the Next button until the LEDs cycle through and release the LED stops when toner low.
7 Turn the printer off and back.

Can I reset the ink Level on a Lexmark and Dell Ink Cartridge

0

When Lexmark and Dell ink cartridges (Dells are made by Lexmark) run out of ink, users may find it desirable to cut costs by refilling cartridges with new ink. However, Lexmark and Dell printers have a tendency to "not" recognize refilled ink cartridges as being sufficiently filled with ink, resulting in a message notifying the user that the levels are low or at times empty. With the right steps, its possible to convince both Lexmark and Dell printers that the ink cartridges still have plenty of ink contained within them. So why does the cartridge show low or empty? The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) will often deter its customers from recycling or refilling so that they can promote more sales. Not environmentally friendly but a good money making scheme none the less. Most Lexmark and Dell printers simply use a memory system that can be by-passed for detailed instructions click here for more information on how to re-set your ink levels.  Most print head type cartridges (and many of the ink tank type) do not contain any measurement tool that can accurately assess ink levels. So how does it work? Well the printer will guess how much ink you use by counting the pages pushed through it. Not convinced, try printing 200 blank pages on your printer and watch the ink levels go down..did you use any ink? The answer was "no" but the cartridges think you have..! Most people will then rush out and buy more ink, Viva Ink do refill and recycle and I am amazed at how "full" many of the ink cartridges are when they are returned for recycling, this suggests (to me) that we are wasting so much ink by relying on the guidance of the OEMs to advise when we need to buy a new cartridge. Do they have a conflict of interst? are they influenced by their aim of selling more ink no matter what the cost to the environment? Or is it just me? Why not visit the home of Viva ink to find out more.
